Lafayette Continues Homestand with Patriot League Match Against Lehigh

EASTON, Pa. - The Leopards' field hockey team continues the season after a week of rest following a 1-0 loss to Holy Cross on Sept. 29. Lafayette (3-7, 0-1) host long time foe Lehigh (5-5, 1-0) on Saturday for a game set to begin at 1 p.m. on Rappolt Field.
Lafayette returns to Rappolt Field after a difficult 1-0 loss to Holy Cross. The Leopards held the Crusaders to just one shot in 70 minutes of play, but were unable to get the ball past reigning Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week junior Erin Singleton.
In 2006, then-junior Laura Fabian scored the game-winning goal within the first 15 minutes of the game to give Lafayette the 1-0 victory over Lehigh.
Patriot League action started for the Mountain Hawks last weekend as well when they defeated Bucknell, 3-2 in overtime. Lehigh fell behind by two marks at halftime, but came back to win scoring the next three goals. Senior Christy Smith had the game-winning goal for the Brown and White in overtime.
Prior to the 1 p.m. Patriot League match, Lafayette will have its inaugural alumni game at 9 a.m. on Rappolt Field.
