EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette field hockey rising sophomore Amanda Magadan was named to the USA Field Hockey Junior Women’s Under-21 National Squad, USA Field Hockey announced Friday. She was one of 22 players named to the team.
"I am thrilled for Amanda to be named to the USA U-21 team.” Lafayette field hockey coach Jennifer Stone said. “This is quite an exciting time for USA field hockey and having Amanda be a part of that regeneration is very exciting. Congratulations to Amanda and the others named to the USA national squads."
“I am really honored to be named to the U-21 national team and to be given this opportunity to train and compete with the top athletes in the country,” Magadan said. “Not everyone gets the privilege to learn and interact with these talented, knowledgeable, experienced coaches and players so I'm elated to be a part of the few that do. I'm really excited to elevate my skills to the next level and to hopefully help the Lafayette Leopards win yet another Patriot League title.”
Magadan and the rest of the Lafayette field hockey team will open their 2014 campaign against Boston College on August 30.
