EASTON, Pa. - Former University of Maryland standout Emily Trycinski has joined the Lafayette field hockey coaching staff. The Nazareth, Pa., native was a four-year letterwinner from 2003-06 when current Lafayette head coach Andrew Griffiths served as an assistant coach.

In her senior season of 2006, Trycinski scored the only goal in the NCAA Championship game versus Wake Forest, leading the Terps to their second-straight national crown. For her efforts, she was named to NCAA All-Tournament team, claiming the first national recognition of her career. The forward scored 12 goals and dished two assists in her 68 career games.

She also brings international experience to College Hill. Trycinski participated in the National Futures Program from 1999-2002 and also played on the Eurotour in 2001. In addition to coaching in the Futures - US Developmental Program, Trycinski served as head junior varsity coach and varsity assistant coach at Saucon Valley High School during the 2008 season.

Trycinski was a two-sport athlete at Nazareth High where she was selected second-team all-state in 2002 and 2003 and earned Morning Call first team all-area honors in 2002 and 2003.

"Emily has been an excellent addition to our coaching staff since she joined us in the spring," Griffiths said. "Her elite playing background and experience speaks for itself, having trained and played on a national championship team at Maryland. She is also a very positive, energetic coach, and our players respond well to this. She will be working with our attack development, and also with our goalkeepers this year."
