Vote Now for the 2007-08 Female Play of the Year
June 2, 2008
EASTON, Pa. - Leopard fans wishing to relive three of the more memorable moments from the 2007-08 campaign can now do so by voting for the Female Play of the Year at GoLeopards.com. The first nominee comes from the Lafayette field hockey program, as junior tri-captain Maggie Condon found the back of the cage on a breakaway to give the Leopards a 1-0 double overtime victory over Colgate and more importantly, clinched a spot in the Patriot League Tournament. The second nominee is from the women's basketball season. Trailing by one with five seconds remaining, freshman LaKeisha Wright grabbed a Monmouth missed free throw. Wright outletted the ball to junior Meghan Malone who found senior Vanessa Van De Venter streaking down the court and knocked down the game-winning layup. The final nominee comes from the spring season and the Lafayette softball squad. In an extra-inning elimination game against Bucknell in the Patriot League Tournament, sophomore Christina Giambrone sent a clutch two-run homerun over the right field wall to propel Lafayette into championship Sunday. The nominees can be viewed on the front page LSN All-Access channel of GoLeopards.com. Fans are encouraged to then vote on the GoLeopards.com fan poll, located at the bottom, right-hand corner of the webpage.
