EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette was named to the 2011 Gladiator SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team, announced by the organization on Tuesday.

The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that have achieved a Team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.

Additionally, four individuals were named to the 2011 Gladiator SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad by earning a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher. Freshman Nicola Coakley led the way, boasting a team-high GPA of 3.83. Junior Emily Valeo, a Patriot League All-Academic Team selection, was recognized after earning a 3.69 overall GPA. Junior Jaclyn White (3.62) and freshman Jenna Seybert (3.33) were also named to the squad.

On the field, Lafayette captured its first Patriot League Championship since 2002 and the eighth in program history.
