EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette field hockey team was recognized with the 2008 NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award for earning a 3.11 grade-point average (GPA) as a squad during Fall 2008.

With her 3.66 GPA in Economics and Business and Art, junior Lindsay Majno led 11 student-athletes named to the National Academic Squad. The National Academic Squad singles out student-athletes who have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2008-09 academic year.

Majno started all but one game during her junior season and emerged as the team's third-leading scorer. Two of her six goals during the year were game-winners.

Joining her on the list are Kelsey Andersen (Biology, 3.44), Alexa Biale (English, 3.42), Meghan Cicchi (Chemistry, 3.56), Meghan Cloonan (History/English, 3.34), Mary Drucker (Undeclared, 3.32), Rebecca Farson (Economics & Business, 3.57), Kelly Hilovsky (Neuroscience, 3.45), Cara Lyons (Civil Engineering, 3.46), Andrea Marrone (Psychology, 3.42) and Julie McNeish (Biology/English, 3.57).

The Leopards were honored earlier this year by the Patriot League as 17 of Lafayette's 25 student-athletes were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Lafayette tied American for the most nods among the conference.
