Boston, Mass. – The Leopards fell to Boston University in the team’s final regular season game, 2-0. Lafayette will travel to Washington, D.C. to play in the Patriot League Championships next weekend. The Leopards outshot the Terriers 12-9 and also held an 8-2 advantage in penalty corners.

“I was very happy with the overall performance today. The result obviously isn’t what we were looking for, but the team has to feel good about where we are at.” Coach Jennifer Stone said. “We created a lot of very quality attacking opportunities for ourselves. We are looking forward to a good week of training as we prepare for Friday."

Boston got on the board in the 26th minute as Sara Martineua collected a rebound in front and tucked the ball inside the left post. The Terriers found the back of the net for a second time in the 59th minute when Madeline Hackett found Sofi Laurito whose reverse stick shot double the Boston lead at 2-0.

The Leopards were able to pressure throughout the game, but Valentina Cerda was able to turn away all of the Lafayette shots. Brittany Blass, Kelsey Gula and Jenna Seybert each fired a pair of shots on goal for the Leopards, while Jessica Deutsch made two saves in goal.

Lafayette returns to action on Friday for the first round of the Patriot League Tournament in Washington, D.C.
