Lafayette Field Hockey Defeats Rutgers, 2-0

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Junior Missy Farrand (Mountaintop, Pa.) recorded her ninth goal of the season to lead the Leopards to a 2-0 non-conference victory over Rutgers on Wednesday night at Rappolt Field.
Farrand's unassisted tally came with 30:58 left in the first half. Two minutes later freshman Jenna Bratz (Springfield, Pa.) sent a shot to the back of the cage off a Meredith Hahn (Hellertown, Pa.) pass to put the Leopards ahead for good, 2-0.
Leopard goalkeeper Casey Devlin (Devon, Pa.) made four saves in the contest. Rutgers' Meris Burton and Aga Sieminginowska combined for eight saves.
Lafayette improves to 11-6 overall with the win. The Scarlet Knights fell to 7-10 with the loss.
The Leopards will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 25 as they host archrival Lehigh in a Patriot League match up at 1 p.m.
