Philadelphia, Pa. - A goal from Hanna Sotiropoulos in the 62nd minute lifted the Leopards over Central Michigan on Saturday afternoon in a neutral site game at Drexel University. The Leopards improved to 1-1 on the early season.

With less than ten minutes remaining in the second half the Leopards broke the deadlock when Sotiropoulos found the back of the cage for her second goal of the contest. The game-winner came off a feed from Kristin Heaney in the 62nd minute.

"I was happy with how the team responded after the first 35 minutes of play", Coach Jennifer Stone said, "Now we move forward and get ready for tomorrow's game vs. Delaware."

The Leopards took the early lead just 7:56 into the first half when Heaney finished off a pass from Haley Keenan. Less than ten minutes later the Chippewas got on the board when Bailey McKeon took a pass from Julianna Makrinos and put it past the Leopard goalkeeper.

Sotiropoulos put the Leopards ahead at the 26:17 mark of the first half. Dana Thomas found the senior and she buried it past the Central Michigan keeper. A Central Michigan goal by Maude Stalars knotted the game with five minutes left in the first half.

Junior Jessica Deutsch improved to 1-1 on the season making one save in the win. Central Michigan's Sadie Reynolds made five saves in a losing effort.

The Chippewas held a 6-3 advantage in corners and a 5-1 lead in saves. Both teams fired 12 shots, with the Leopards leading 8-3 in shots on target.

The Leopards head down to Newark, Del. for a matchup with the Blue Hens tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.
