EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette senior forward Jen Stone's (Newton, Pa./The George School) second hat trick in four days was not enough as the Leopards fell to Villanova, 4-3, in a non-league contest.

Stone's first goal, off a penalty stroke, tied the score at one with 22:25 remaining in the first half. Her third goal tied the score at three with 20:42 remaining in the match.

Melissa Hoh (Zionsville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) and Kathleen Gallagher (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) assisted Stone's second and third goals, respectively.

Villanova's Rory Rogers knocked in the game-winner with 6:00 left in regulation.

Lafayette, which held a slight 17-15 advantage in shots, had three opportunities at a penalty corner situation to tie the score after regulation time had elapsed but came up empty.

Casey Devlin (Devon, Pa./Episcopal Academy) made nine saves in the cage for the Leopards.

The Leopards (1-2) return to action on Saturday, traveling to William & Mary for a 1 p.m. match.
