The Full-Court Press - Dec. 27
Dec. 27, 2010
Coming off of a two-game losing streak, we knew things would eventually turn around with hard work and dedication... and they did! We went on a three-game winning streak, the first since our freshman year. Our streak began with Farleigh Dickinson. We knew this game would be tough, but we stuck to the game plan and worked together to get the job done.
We were then back on the road at Manhattan College. The game was rough in the beginning; it seemed like Manhattan couldn't miss a shot, and we eventually went down by 16 points. But that's when we pulled together. Players came off the bench and us quality minutes. We all stepped up, hit some big shots, played tough defense and soon we had ourselves a tie ballgame, 50-50 with 13 seconds to go and a chance to win. Our first look didn't fall, but we boxed out, got the rebound and dished it for the winning shot at the buzzer! It's was an exciting win and also a good lesson to keep fighting regardless of the score.
Riding a two-game winning streak into our game with La Salle, we were feeling confident but knew we had to be ready. Lafayette had not beaten an A-10 school since we had been here, but we came out ready to play. Everybody contributed both offensively and defensively, and we continue to work very hard. Teams are going to have to outwork us if they want to beat us.
Our winning streak may have come to an end against Princeton, but we hope that it was a sign of things to come as we get ready for the start of Patriot League play.
