Women's Hoops Opens Three-Game Road Swing

The Leopards open up a three-game road swing against St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. Lafayette is coming off a ten-point loss to Stony Brook on Dec. 8, while the Terriers ride a three-game winning streak into the contest.
Last time Out
Lafayette saw its two-game winning streak snapped as Stony Brook beat the Leopards, 71-61. The Maroon and White closed the gap to four late in the game, but were unable to complete the comeback. The Leopards were outrebounded for just the second time this season, as the Seawolves held a 46-37 edge. Danielle Fiacco paced the Leopards with 19 points, six boards and four blocks. Emily Homan and Linnel Macklin finished with 14 and 10 points.
Scouting the Terriers
St. Francis is led by a trio of players averaging double figures. Junior guard Eilidh Simpson averages a team-high 12.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. Jaymee Veney has started all nine games and averages 11.9 points and a team-best 6.7 boards per contests. The final Terrier in double figures is Sarah Benedetti, the junior comes off the bench and scores 11.9 points per game.
Against St. Francis
The Leopards have won four straight against the Terriers and seven of the nine contests between the programs. Lafayette took last season’s game, 66-63, in Kirby Sports Center.
Emily Homan and Danielle Fiacco have been a force on the low block all season. In the past four games Homan has scored in double figures, averaging 15.5 points per game during the stretch. The junior opened the season with back-to-back 21 point performances in wins over Rider and Brown. Fiacco is averaging 10 points per contest and tallied a season-high 19 against Stony Brook on Dec. 8.
Lafayette has three players averaging double figures in scoring this season. Emily Homan leads the team with 13.4 points per game, followed by Jamie O'Hare at 10.9 and Danielle Fiacco at 10 points per contest.
Crashing the Boards
Guard Madeline Fahan has led the Leopards in rebounds in the last three games. The senior is averaging 8.7 boards per game during the stretch and is second on the team with 5.6 rebounds per game this season.
