EASTON, Pa. – Junior co-captain Danielle Fiacco was awarded the Patriot League Player of the Week after her two double-double performances in the opening weekend of the 2012-13 season. This award is the second weekly honor for the 6'7" center from Brewster, N.Y.

Fiacco began the year on Friday evening with a 15-rebound, 13-point performance in the team’s 62-51 victory over Loyola Chicago. She also turned in six blocks against the Ramblers.

On Sunday afternoon, Fiacco continued her success, totaling 13 points, 10 boards and six blocks against Seton Hall in a 60-54 defeat. Fiacco’s 12 blocks on the week move her to 195 for her career, a school record and seventh all time in the Patriot League record books. She now has three straight double-doubles dating back to her 12-point, 11-rebound showing against American in last years’ Patriot League quarterfinal.

Fiacco and the rest of the Leopards return home on Wednesday evening to face the Villanova Wildcats inside Kirby Sports Center at 7 p.m.
