EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette women's basketball team began practice on Tuesday afternoon in preparation for the 2013-14 season. The Leopards officially opened preseason on Monday with a team meeting.

Head coach Dianne Nolan enters her fourth season at the helm, looking to improve on last season's 11-19 record. Nolan welcomes new assistant coach Yolanda Griffin to the staff this season, while Shireyll Moore and Kim Benton both return for their fourth season on College Hill.

The Maroon and White bring back all five starters and 11 letterwinners from a season ago. The Leopards will be led this season by a trio of senior captains, Madeline Fahan, Danielle Fiacco and Kristan Liddle. Fahan played 26 games, drawing 16 starts last season, and is currently the team's active leader in career assists (115) and steals (70). Fiacco is Lafayette's all-time leader in blocked shots (284) and is the team's active leader with 760 points. Liddle was one of four players to see action in every game last season, and the Neuroscience major was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

Lafayette opens its season inside the newly renovated Kirby Sports Center on November 8 at 7 p.m. against Rider.
