EASTON, Pa. - Sydney Sabino joins the Lafayette women's basketball program after transferring to College Hill from Wagner, head coach Kia Damon announced on Friday.

Sabino will have to sit out the season due to NCAA transfer regulations, but will be ready to get to work for the 2018-19 season.

"I am excited to have Sydney join our program," said Damon. "She will add depth to the guard position, stretch the defense with her long-range shooting ability and bring a high level of energy every time she takes the floor. Although Sydney will not compete this season, she will have a positive impact on the program both on and off the court."

While at Wagner, the Rumson, N.J. native averaged 12.7 minutes per game as a freshman and recorded a season-high 13 points, knocking down four 3-pointers in a victory over the College of Staten Island. Prior to suiting up for the Seahawks, Sabino played for New Jersey powerhouse Rumson-Fair Haven High School. A three-year varsity letter winner, Sabino knocked down 80 three-pointers during her career, notching 44 in her final season with the Bulldogs.
