Kucowski Grabs Fifth Rookie of the Week Honor
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Freshman forward Natalie Kucowski was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the fifth time this season after leading the Maroon and White to a 1-1 split against Army and Loyola, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
In the first game of the week at Army, Kucowski grabbed a team-high seven rebounds to finish as the team's leading rebounder for the 17 time this season. Against Loyola, the Philadelphia, Pa. native led the Leopards' offense with her ninth double-double of the season, finishing with a career-high 22 points to go along with 12 rebounds. The win over the Greyhounds marked the first time the Leopards have swept a season series in the Patriot League since defeating Boston U. in both meetings during the 2015-16 campaign.
Kucowski is one of three Patriot League players averaging a double-double on the season with 12.0 ppg and 10.8 rpg. Her rebounding average currently ranks 15th in the country and first in the Patriot League.
Kucowski and the Leopards are back home on Wednesday when they welcome Navy to Kirby Sports Center for a 7 p.m. showdown.
