Kucowski Earns Fourth PL Rookie of the Week Nod
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Freshman forward Natalie Kucowski was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after leading the Maroon and White to a 1-1 split against Boston U. and Holy Cross.
On the road against the Terriers, Kucowski was one of two Leopards to finish in double figures, scoring 11 points in the 47-45 victory. The Philadelphia, Pa. native pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and finished with a game-high four steals. Against the Crusaders, the 6-3 forward recorded her eighth double-double of the year, finishing with 14 points and a game-high 17 rebounds.
Kucowski is one of two Patriot League players averaging a double-double on the season with 11.7 ppg and 11.2 rpg. Her rebounding average currently ranks 16 in the nation and first in the Patriot League. Kucowski has been doing work on the defensive end as well, ranking third in the league with 1.6 blocks per game.
The Maroon and White are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 3, when they welcome Bucknell to Kirby Sports Center for the Play4Kay game. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
