Kucowski Named Patriot League ROTW for Third Time
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Freshman forward Natalie Kucowski earned her third Patriot League Rookie of the Week nod after helping guide the Maroon and White capture two straight league victories over Holy Cross and Colgate.
The Philadelphia, Pa. native recorded her sixth career double-double on the road at Holy Cross, finishing with 14 points and 12 rebounds in the Leopards win over the Crusaders. Her double-double in Worcester was her third straight, marking the first time a Lafayette player had three straight double-doubles since Emily Homan ’15.
Against the Raiders, Kucowski had another strong outing, finishing one rebound shy of a double-double with a team-high nine boards. The 6-3 forward added 12 points to her stat line, along with tying a career-high with four steals.
Kucowski is averaging a double-double on the season with 12.0 ppg and 12.0 rpg. Her rebounding average currently ranks 11th in the nation and first in the Patriot League. Kucowski has been doing work on the defensive end as well, ranking third in the league with 1.6 blocks per game.
The Maroon and White are back in action this Thursday, Jan. 11, when they welcome Army to Kirby Sports Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
