EASTON, Pa. - Two double-doubles from co-captains, junior Danielle Fiacco and sophomore Emily Homan, weren't enough to outlast Rider in Kirby Sports Center on Tuesday evening, falling to the Broncs, 68-64.

Homan led the Leopards in scoring with 18 on 6-of-16 shooting, and pulled down 10 boards. Her counterpart, Fiacco, snagged 14 rebounds and poured in 14 points for the Leopards on the low block. Rider's Sironda Chambers led all scorers with 24 points, shooting 9-for-15 from the field and draining all five of her free throws.

Lafayette went 25-for-73 from the field in the contest, a 34.2 percent mark. The Leopards shot 6-for-14 from the three-point line, their most productive night of the season so far. On the other side, Rider went 25-for-61from the floor, but made just two of its 11 three-point attempts.

Coach Nolan got her high-low offense going early as a quick feed from Homan at the high post to Fiacco on the opposite block led to early points for the Leopards. Sophomores Brya Freeland and Linnel Macklin connected on their first two tries from behind the arc and the Leopards led, 12-6, going into the 16-minute media timeout.

The Broncs put together an 8-0 run at the 15-minute mark to pull the score even at 16 apiece, but a three from the top of the key for freshman Jamie O'Hare put the Leopards on top, 19-16. Again the Broncs answered, dropping six unanswered points before two Homan layups snatched the lead again, 23-22, with nine minutes left in the first.

The Leopards' offense stalled toward the end of the half, falling into a six-minute scoring drought. Fiacco finally hit a jumper from the baseline with 29.9 seconds left to send Lafayette into the locker room trailing, 32-29.

Rider's Sironda Chambers and Lafayette's Freeland exchanged threes in their opening possessions of the second half, but Macklin drained one from long-distance to tie the game at 35, less than two minutes in.

With 15 minutes remaining, O'Hare found Fiacco across the lane on a beautiful scoop pass around two defenders to extend the lead to three, 41-38. Another nifty kick-out pass from O'Hare found Freeland behind the arc at the 12:53 mark to put the Leopards up, 46-40.

Rider put together an 8-2 run to tie the game at 48 with 10:49 to play, and extended its lead to five at 53-48, forcing a Nolan timeout at the 8:14 mark.

Fiacco's turnaround six-footer from the paint and a nice drive and scoop from O'Hare finally gave the Leopards some offense, pulling within two at 58-56 with just under five minutes left in the contest.

From then on, Rider scored 10 of the last 18 points to close out Lafayette, 68-64. The Maroon and White move to 2-5 on the season and are back in action on Saturday, hosting the Pitt Panthers at Kirby Sports Center at 2 p.m.
