LaRonda Murphy begins her 11th season as an assistant coach on the Lafayette women's basketball staff. Her responsibilities include recruiting, post player development, coordinating team travel and budget management.
As the program's top assistant, Murphy also assists with practice planning and game strategy. She serves on the athletic department's diversity committee in addition to serving as the team's academic liaison.
Prior to coming to College Hill, Murphy spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Fairleigh Dickinson University, serving as recruiting coordinator. Before her FDU stint, Murphy spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Eastern Michigan University, working with post players, as well as scouting and monitoring the academics of student-athletes.
Murphy received a degree in Business Administration from Saginaw Valley State in 1992. While at SVSU, she served as captain of the women's basketball team and was also a student-assistant coach. She went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in College Student Personnel from Eastern Michigan in 1995.
Murphy is also a 2005 graduate of the NCAA Women's Coaches Academy and resides in Easton, Pa.
