Lafayette opens its season on Friday at home against La Salle

Jennifer Montoya enters her second year under the tutelage of Kia Damon and will work with the program's guards. Montoya comes to College Hill after spending the last six seasons working with the Penn State women's basketball staff. In 2016-17, she was the director of scouting and video operations for the Big 10 program. During the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons, she served as a recruiting assistant and special projects coordinator. Her involvement with Penn State basketball coincided with her time as an undergraduate at the school, working as an intern and head travel manager (2010-14) while seeing the Lady Lions win three straight Big Ten titles from 2012-14. Following Penn State's 2013 championship season, Montoya garnered WNBA internship experience with the Minnesota Lynx. In 2014, the native of Los Alamitos, Calif. graduated from Penn State with dual degrees in International Politics and Global and International Studies (with minors in Spanish and Latino Studies). She earned her master's degree in International Affairs in 2016. "I have watched Jennifer grow from a student manager to most recently serving as women's basketball's Director of Scouting and Video Technology at Penn State," Damon said. "I have always been very impressed with her work ethic and her selfless nature. She will make an immediate impact with her knowledge of analytics, commitment to developing players both on and off the court, and recruiting."
