Preston Denby ranks as one of the great shooters in Lafayette hoops history and helped the 1965 baseball team to an NCAA District 2 title.
Denby also pitched three seasons for Coach Charley Gelbert's baseball team including 1965 when he compiled a 4-3 record with a career-low 2.84 earned run average. The Leopards finished 18-8 in `65, won the MAC title and advanced to the College World Series. |
