Maynard was a four-time All-East Coast Conference selection and was the ECC Player of the Year in his senior season of 1987 when he also garnered NCAA All-District accolades at catcher. He was a two-year team captain and earned team MVP honors in 1985 and 1987. Maynard also was honored with the Charles L. Albert ‘08 Award presented annually to the senior student-athletes at Lafayette who are judged to be the most outstanding athlete.

Maynard played in the Cape Cod League in the summers of 1985 and 1986, leading into his final campaign when he hit for a .411 average and drew 51 walks.

For his career, he finished as the school’s all-time leader with 156 career RBI while also ranking in the top 10 in career hits (176), runs scored (143), doubles (34), triples (11), total bases (266) and slugging percentage (.551). He also ranks in the top 10 for single-season marks in RBI (49 in 1987), batting average (.411 in 1987) and triples (5 in 1987).

After graduation, he had several professional tryouts and held numerous coaching positions while continuing to play competitively.
