David Brown averaged 25.3 points per game his senior year, which is
the third-best all-time seasonal average by a Lafayette basketball player.
Along with his 25.3 points average, he also averaged 10.6 rebounds per
contest on the 1965-66 season.
Brown set school records in his senior year for most free throws made in a game, with 22 versus Gettysburg on Feb. 12,
1966, and most free throws made in a season (177). In three years of varsity
play, the 1965-66 co-captain scored 1,070 points to currently rank 24th among
all-time Lafayette scorers. Along with being a first-team All-East selection,
Brown was a first-team member of the Middle Atlantic Conference and was a
third-team All-Pennsylvania choice.
A two-sport-athlete on College Hill, Brown also played end and punted for the
football team. During his junior and senior years he led the team in receiving.
He caught 35 passes for 468 yards in his junior year, while receiving 31 tosses
for 479 yards during his senior campaign.
