1956-57 Men's Basketball Team

The 1956-57 Lafayette men's basketball team captured the Middle-Atlantic Conference championship via a 22-5 mark under Davidson. Led by 1,000-point scorers and previous Hall of Fame inductees Bob Mantz ’58, Jim Radcliff ’57 and Stu Murray ’57, Lafayette beat the likes of Seton Hall, Rutgers and St. Joseph’s on its way to the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament berth. That team set a single-season record for rebounds (1,494) thanks to the work of Mantz and Radcliff, who still rank first and second on the career rebounding list.
