Six from Men's Tennis Net Patriot League Academic Honor Roll Status

EASTON, Pa. - Six members of the Lafayette men's tennis team have earned Patriot League Academic Honor Roll status, as announced by the league office. Eligible student-athletes must have earned a grade-point average of 3.20 or higher in the spring semester while competing in a winter or spring Patriot League-sponsored sport.
Rising junior Michael Pinkard led the way with a 4.00 grade-point average as a Physics major. The native of Puyallup, Wash. was one of five Patriot League men's tennis student-athletes to boast a perfect GPA this spring.
The Class of 2013 was represented by Scott Gelbman, who tallied a 3.23 GPA as a Government & Law major. Rising junior Sinan Ipeker (Economics, 3.58 GPA), and rising sophomores Brandon Goldstein (Economics, 3.93), Alex Charchalis (Economics, 3.46) and James Oliver (Government & Law, 3.33) complete the list of nominees.
The Leopards, who are led by head coach Eric Ratchford, recently earned a Public Recognition Award from the NCAA for scoring among the top 10 percent in its sport in Academic Progress Rate (APR). The men's tennis team was one of 13 Lafayette squads to earn a Public Recognition Award.
