Tim Berman Invitational Results

Swarthmore, Pa.  –
The Lafayette men’s tennis team sent three players to compete in the Tim Berman Invitational hosted by Swarthmore College on Saturday. Brian Pinkard and Jake Lazer won their opening doubles match and represented Lafayette in the final.

The duo defeated Villanova’s Joseph Monaldo and Andrew Adler by a score of 8-3 before losing to Swarthmore’s pair of Malik Mubeen and James Wieler, 8-5, for the tournament title.

In singles play, Pinkard lost his opening contest to Wieler, 4-6, 7-6, 10-8, but bounced back to defeat Villanova’s Kyle Grandin in straight sets, 6-1, 7-6. Also playing for Lafayette was freshman Brian Stefanowicz who dropped his first match before beating Monaldo three and zero.

Lafayette returns to action on Oct. 27 for the start of the two-day Lehigh Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa.
