Men's Tennis Falls to Lehigh in Season Finale

EASTON, Pa.
– The Lafayette men’s tennis team finished its regular season schedule with a 6-1 loss against Lehigh Monday on Sullivan Courts.

Sophomore Brian Stefanowicz picked up the Maroon and White’s lone singles point when he took care of Tyler Hansen 7-5, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Brandon Goldstein dropped the No. 1 singles match to Ben Gilman 6-1, 6-3, while Brian Pinkard fell 6-4, 6-1 in No. 2 singles to Mitchell Petersen. Jeremy Kochman downed Jake Lazer in the third singles match 6-2, 6-2 and freshman T.J. Morgan lost to Timur Chernykh 6-2, 6-3. Ethan Bogard took the sixth singles point from Chris Matturri 6-3, 6-3.

The Leopards picked up a win in doubles action courtesy of Goldstein and Stefanowicz’s 8-6 defeat of Petersen and Mark Goldberg. Gilman and Kockman knocked off Pinkard and Lazer 8-3 at second doubles, while Chernykh and Hansen defeated Matturri and Gavin Studner 8-6 in the decisive No. 3 competition.

The loss rounds out a 4-10 campaign for the Leopards who shift their focus to the Patriot League Tournament and a first round meeting with Holy Cross on Thursday in West Point, N.Y.
