Colgate Knocks Off Men's Tennis

Easton, Pa. – The Lafayette men’s tennis squad dropped a Patriot League match to Colgate Monday afternoon at Sullivan Courts by a score of 7-0.
The Leopards picked up a match win in doubles action as Brandon Goldstein and Brian Stefanowicz bested Luke Gensburg and Bobby Berkowitz 8-6. The Raiders earned the point when Alan Pleat and Archer McFall topped Brian Pinkard and Jake Lazer 8-6, and Nick Laub and Tom Haile dropped Chris Matturri and Gavin Studner 8-4.
In singles action, Gensburg ousted Goldstein 6-4, 6-4 in the number one match. Brian Pinkard fell to Bobby Berkowitz 6-2, 6-4 at second singles. Brian Stefanowicz dropped the No. 3 competition to Alam Pleat 6-3, 6-0. Jake Lazer forced a tiebreak in the first set of his bout with Archer McFall, only to fall 7-6 (5), 6-1 at fourth singles. In the No. 5 match, Nick Laub took down Chris Matturri 6-3, 6-0. Gavin Studner lost at No. 6 singles to Jake Hirchberg 6-3, 6-0.
The Maroon and White finish up the regular season on April 21 when they host Lehigh.
