Lafayette Returns to Winning Ways With 7-0 Sweep of Drexel

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's tennis team swept all matches en route to a 7-0 shutout of Drexel in non-conference action at Sullivan Courts on Monday afternoon. H'Cone Thompson earned his 17th win of the season with a 6-4, 6-2 decision over Reda Akbil at No. 1 singles, while Matt Coin improved to 15-5 with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Walid El Jebbari at No. 2. Ryan Collins, Dan Seward, Peter Titus and John Zazzu rounded out the rest of the singles winners for the Leopards. Lafayette also took two out of three doubles matches, with Thompson and Seward teaming for victory at second singles and Coin and Zazzu pairing to capture the third slot. Lafayette resumes Patriot League play on Wednesday when the team travels to Lehigh for a 3 p.m. match.
