Lafayette Men's Tennis Falls 7-0 at St. Bonaventure

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - St. Bonaventure swept men's tennis action at the Bonnies' Fitness Center on Saturday with a 7-0 non-league win over Lafayette. Lafayette (16-4), competing without top singles player Andrew Mott, dropped three-set matches at the first and third positions. Alejandro Nery defeated Paul Guarino 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 at No. 1 and Peter Titus dropped a 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (7-4) score at No. 3. The Leopards faced a St. Bonaventure line-up that paired its third and fourth singles players at No. 1 doubles, the first and fifth players at No. 2 and second and sixth at No. 3. Titus and Jeremy Fehrs, who played fifth singles for Lafayette, fell 8-4 at the top slot. The second doubles team of Brett Warren and Brett Kraft lost 8-3, while Guarino and Alex Goergen fell 8-6 at No. 3. Lafayette will travel to Washington, D.C. to open Patriot League action on Friday, March 31 and stay south of the Mason-Dixon line to play at Navy on Saturday. Singles 1. Alejandro Nery (SBU) def.
