Men's Tennis Sweeps Muhlenberg

EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette men’s tennis team swept the Mules of Muhlenberg 7-0 at Northwood Racquet Club Friday night.
The Leopards and Mules kicked off the match with doubles action. The Maroon and White’s top pair of Brandon Goldstein and Brian Stefanowicz took down Muhlenberg’s top duo of Dan Lakhman and Jason Teitellbaum 8-6. Brain Pinkard and Jake Lazer topped Eric Chavis and David Woods 8-5. Chris Matturri and Gavin Studner defeated Ben Berkowitz and Derrick Eng 8-5.
In singles action, Goldstein took the number one singles match from Lakhman 6-2, 6-1. Pinkard bested Teitellbaum 6-1, 6-3 in the number two match. Stefanowicz brought down Berkowitz 6-1, 6-1 in the number three tilt. Matturri outlasted Chavis in the number four contest 6-1, 7-5. T.J. Morgan took down Woods 6-2, 6-3 in the number five match. Studner took down Eng 8-3 in a pro set. Will Kleeman took on Neil Sahulman in exhibition action falling 8-5.

The men travel to West Point, N.Y. on March 22 to take on Army at 9:00 a.m. and Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m.
