Steven Berkowitz and Chris Grabowski Make List of Patriot League Swimming and Diving Career Point Leaders

March 25, 2004

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette seniors Steven Berkowitz (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) and Chris Grabowski (Port Carbon, Pa./Pottsville Area) have made the list of the top 10 point scorers at the Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championships from the past four seasons.

The seniors rank ninth and tenth, respectively.

Berkowitz has scored a total of 95 points over the past four league championship meets. Berkowitz had his best performance as a sophomore in 2002 when he scored 36 points on the strength of a trio of top-ten finishes, including a school-record breaking performance in the 400 IM.

Grabowski's making the list is made more impressive considering he has only competed in two Patriot League Championship meets. After transferring from Penn State following his sophomore season, Grabowski has tallied a total of 88 points over the past two years. His performance at the 2004 Championships was highlighted by a second-place finish in the 200 backstroke in 1:49.54, the second-fastest time in Lafayette history.

Bucknell's Peter Garvin tops the list with 176 career championship meet points, while American, which has competed at just the past three championship meets, placed a league-high four competitors on the list.
