Easton, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's swimming and diving team faced off with rival Lehigh in Ruef Natatorium and were beaten 151-92.

The Leopards (1-3, 0-1) got strong first place performances from sophomore Bart Ray (Wycotte, Pa./LaSalle College) and freshman Steven Berkowitz (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) in the 200-meter backstroke and 200-meter butterfly, respectively. Senior captian Rob Bateman (Lebanon, N.J./Pennington) placed first in the 200-meter individual medley, beating out teammate Berkowitz, who placed second in the event.

Senior captain Mike Sanda (Tokyo, Japan/St. Mary's) placed first in the three-meter diving competitions while sophomore teammate Justin Gaudreau (Wethersfield, Conn./Wethersfield) took first in the one-meter.

The Mountain Hawks improved their record to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the Patriot League.

Lafayette will face off at home with non-conference opponent Rider on Saturday Dec. 2 at 1 p.m.
