PHILADELPHIA (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's swimming and diving team lost its first dual meet of the season on Saturday at Drexel, 138-103, while handing the Dragons their first win of the season. The Leopards (1-1) failed to finish in the top three in both diving contests, securing the Drexel victory.

Junior Matt Haggerty (Delran, N.J./Holy Cross) continued his dominating performance in the pool this season with wins in the 1000- and 500-meter freestyle events. Freshman and Philadelphia native Janis Eisl (Philadelphia, Pa./Friends School) took the 200-free crown for Lafayette with a time of 1.47.33. Rob Bateman (Lebanon, N.J./Pennington) and Steve Berkowitz (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) also walked away with first place victories in the 200-meter individual medley and the 200-meter fly, respectively.

Drexel's divers swept the one- and three- meter competitions with Dragon divers finishing in the top three spots in each event.
