Men's Swimming Falls to Navy and Rider

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette's men's swimming team fell to Navy and Rider in a tri-meet at Navy on Saturday. Navy outscored the Leopards 238-60, while Rider posted a 183-111 victory.

Senior Jakub Pritz (Holmes, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) earned Lafayette's lone first-place finish, touching the wall first in the 50-meter freestyle. Pritz would add a third-place finish in the 100-meter freestyle and joined Chris Grabowski (Port Carbon, Pa./Pottsville Area), Steven Berkowitz (Scotch Plains,N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) and Greg Van Volkenburg (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) on the fourth-place 400-meter medley relay.

Grabowski added a second in the 400-meter freestyle, third in the 200-meter butterfly and fourth in the 800-meter freestyle.

Other top-five finishers for Lafayette were Berkowitz, fourth in the 200-meter butterfly, Van Volkenburg, fifth in the 200-meter freestyle, Kristopher Klein (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego), fifth in the 100-meter backstroke, Stephen Connlain (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown), fifth in the 100-meter freestyle and fifth in the 100-meter butterfly, Alex Hess (Allentown, Pa./William Allen), fifth in three-meter diving and the 400-meter freestyle relay team of Pritz, Connlain, Janis Eisl (Philadelphia, Pa./Friends Central) and John Veltri (Lawrence, N.J./Lawrence) took fifth.

Lafayette is off until Nov. 4, when the Leopards visit St. Peter's at 6 p.m.
