Seton Hall takes first, Leopards second, Kutztown third in season opener.

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's swimming and diving team opened its season by taking second place at the Lafayette Invitational today in Ruef Natatorium. Seton Hall took home the crown with 309 points followed by Lafayette (251), Kutztown (203) and St. Peter's (12).
The Leopards were led by sophomore Stephen Berkowitz (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) who took home four top three finishes for the meet. Berkowitz took second in the 200-yd fly event in 1:59.23, third in the 200-yd IM in 2:03.26, third in the 400-yd IM in 4:31.21 and second in the 100-yd fly event in 55.01.
Freshman Jakub Pritz (Holmes, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) was strong for Lafayette in his first collegiate meet, taking third in the 100-yd free event in 50.05 and third in the 100-yd breast in 1:05.12.
Other top finishers included freshman Stephen Connlain (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) who placed third behind Berkowitz in the 100-yd fly with a time of 56.09. In the relay events, five Lafayette teams placed in the top three places to rack up the points for the Leopards.
Lafayette opens the dual-meet season on the road versus St. Peter's on Nov. 6 at 6 p.m.
