GLOUCESTER, N.J. (www.lafayette.edu) - Senior Rob Bateman placed third in the 100-yard backstroke at the ECAC Swimming and Diving Championships at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology on Friday, outswimming competitors from over 20 colleges and universities. Bateman's time of 58.66 placed him behind swimmers from UMBC and Binghamton.
The field of competitors in the three-day event include host institution La Salle, New Hampshire, St. Francis (N.Y.), Towson, Boston, Army, East Carolina, Binghamton, Stony Brook, Niagara, Drexel, Bucknell and Buffalo.
The third and final day of competition is Saturday, Feb. 24, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
