WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette women's and men's swimming teams beat out squads from St. Peter's and Rippon College on Saturday in a relay meet in the midst of the team's Winter Training Trip to West Palm Beach, Fla. The Leopards earned first place finishes in 11 of the 13 relay events and placed second in the two remaining events.

The men's team accumulated 40 points at the meet, followed by St. Peter's with 16 and Rippon with seven.

Men's senior co-captain Rob Bateman (Lebanon, N.J./Pennington) was on six of the winning relay teams, including two co-ed squads. Freshman Liz Tutschek (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) was also on six winning teams while junior teammate Leah Gruenke (Wescosville, Pa./Emmaus) was on five first-place finishing squads for the women.

The Lafayette men (3-3) return home on Wednesday to gear up for their meet on Saturday against Patriot League foe Bucknell at Ruef Natatorium.
