Mike Davis is in his first season as the head diving coach at Lafayette. He has an extensive background in diving. While competing on New York University's swim team from 1982-1986, where he was a two-time co-captain, he was the first swimmer or diver from NYU to qualify for Eastern Championships or Nationals in 15 years. Davis was a repeated recipient of the Chancellor L. Jay Oliva Scholarship Award for Academic Excellence and Athletic Leadership. After receiving his B.A. in political science from NYU in 1986, Davis conducted diving programs there while attending Fordham Law School. These competitions have taken him abroad to such places as Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Paris and Sydney as well as nationally to San Diego, Atlanta, New York and Palo Alto.

For the past eight years, Davis has coached diving at high schools in the Easton area, including training many District and State qualifiers and champions. He has also been the director of an age-group program for children which has served as a feeder program for his high school teams.

Davis' coaching philosophy reaches beyond skill-building and competition skills to encompass health, diet, mental imagery and positive thinking.
