Peckham and Turner Garner NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region Honors
Dec. 12, 2012
EASTON, Pa. – A pair of Lafayette men’s soccer student-athletes, senior Sean Peckham and junior Brandon Turner, have been honored with places on the NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Third Team. The selection is the third All-Mid-Atlantic recognition for Peckham, while Turner claims his first accolade.
After captaining Lafayette to its seventh Patriot League Tournament title and fifth NCAA Tournament berth in program history, Peckham, who hails from Warminster, Pa., adds the All-Mid-Atlantic honor following his final season on College Hill. Peckham was second on the team with eight points, contributing two goals and four assists, while starting every game. The midfielder was named to the Patriot League All-Tournament Team after the Leopards upended Colgate and American on their way to the championship.
Turner was an integral part of Lafayette’s defensive corps in 2012, starting every game and helping the Leopards post eight shutouts, including two in the Patriot League Tournament. The Bayshore, N.Y. native was also a First-Team All-Patriot League choice and scored twice in conference play. To end the regular season and into the NCAA Tournament, Turner was a key to Lafayette’s shutout streak, which lasted 553:47, the longest since the 2007 season.
The Leopards received an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament after winning the Patriot League Tournament and made their first postseason appearance since 2005.
