Men's Soccer Merits NSCAA College Team Academic Award
Dec. 6, 2011
EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette men's soccer program has received a National Soccer Coaches Association of America College Team Academic Award, as announced by the organization on Dec. 2. Eligible programs must have earned a collective grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2010-11 academic year.
Head Coach Dennis Bohn's club posted a 3.23 GPA in 2010-11 and produced 13 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selections. Additionally, Luke Calvano was named to the inaugural Academic All-Patriot League squad as a junior in the 2010 season. The Leopards have been recognized by the NSCAA in each of the last four years.
Academic success has been a constant during Bohn's 11-year tenure at Lafayette. His student-athletes combined for 110 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll nods in his first decade on College Hill, not including the league's 2011 list that is yet to be determined.
This past season, which was the Leopards' 11th-straight winning campaign on the pitch, Graham Heydt and Blake Fink earned Academic All-Patriot League honors. Fink also claimed Capital One Academic All-District II laurels for his efforts in the classroom.
Lafayette was one of the 154 institutions across all levels of collegiate competition to garner an NSCAA College Team Academic Award for both its men's and women's soccer programs.
