Plummer Earns All-Patriot League Second-Team Honors

Nov. 11, 2013

Easton, Pa. – Lafayette junior defender Julian Plummer was honored with a spot on the All-Patriot League Second Team, the conference announced Monday. The recognition was the second All-Patriot League nod of Plummer’s career.

A native of Kendall Park, N.J., Plummer anchored Lafayette’s defensive unit in front of goalkeeper Nathan McDonald that tied for second in the Patriot League with a 0.70 goals-against average. Plummer started all 18 games for the Leopards in 2013 alongside teammates Erik Cannon, Brandon Turner and Nate Arronson on Lafayette’s back line. The defense helped the team post eight clean sheets, a total that was tied for third-best among Patriot League clubs.

Second Team status is familiar to Plummer, who was acknowledged with a position on the squad following his freshman season in 2011. The Economics major has started in all 57 games since arriving on College Hill and has been part of 26 shutouts, including two in the 2012 postseason when he was named to the Patriot League’s All-Tournament Team.
