EASTON, Pa. - Senior men's soccer player Nick Leigh (Urbana, Ill./Urbana) has been named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 First Team. Leigh was one of eight Patriot League men's soccer players named to an All-District Team.

This marks the first Academic All-District honor for Leigh, a Biology major. Off the soccer field, Leigh maintains a 3.65 overall grade-point average, including a 3.85 GPA this past spring. He also serves as a Peer Mentor and has been conducting research with Lafayette professor Jennifer Rutherford for the past year.

The senior defender has started 15 of 16 games this fall and has been a key part of another solid Lafayette defense. The Leopards boast a 0.83 goals-against average and have 10 shutouts to their credit. Leigh also notched his second career assist this season.

To be nominated for All-District honors, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (GPA). Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games and First-Team selections are eligible for Academic All-American status.
