Nate Arronson Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week
Oct. 8, 2012
EASTON, Pa. - After playing a pivotal role in Lafayette's 1-0 victory over Lehigh on Oct. 6, Nate Arronson was chosen as the Patriot League's Rookie of the Week for the first time in his career.
A defender from Bryn Mawr, Pa., Arronson played all 90 minutes in Lafayette's second consecutive win against Lehigh and scored the deciding goal in the match. His goal came in the 66th minute on a free kick from outside the Lehigh penalty area and he helped the Leopards' defense hold Lehigh to four shots on goal. Arronson joins Josh Brown, Alec Golini and Nathan McDonald as Lafayette student-athletes honored by the Patriot League with weekly awards this season.
The team currently sits in second place in the Patriot League standings after three games (2-1-0) with six points. American (2-0-1) occupies the top spot with seven points, while Navy and Colgate each have five points and are 1-0-2 in conference games. Lehigh (0-3-0) is the only League team without a point thus far.
Lafayette resumes Patriot League play on Oct. 13 against American after the team travels to play Villanova on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
