Nathan McDonald Named Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week
Sept. 17, 2012
EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette goalkeeper Nathan McDonald claimed Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week honors for his effort in Lafayette’s 2-0 victory against Mount St. Mary’s on Sept. 15.
The recognition comes after McDonald stepped between the posts and backstopped Lafayette in a win that ended a four-match winless streak for the squad. The Leopards’ junior keeper made three saves in his fourth career shutout, which included a diving stop on a Mount St. Mary’s header in the 36th minute. The award is the first of McDonald’s career and the first for a men’s soccer student-athlete this season.
Lafayette opens Patriot League play on the road on Saturday when it travels to Annapolis, Md. to play Navy. Kickoff from Glenn Warner Soccer Facility is set for 8 p.m.
