EASTON, Pa. - Freshman back Julian Plummer has been named the BRINE Patriot League Rookie of the Week, as announced this afternoon by the league office. Plummer appeared in all 290 minutes of a 2-0-1 week for the Leopards.

With Plummer at center back, the Lafayette defense allowed just one goal (0.31 GAA) in three matches last week. The freshman from Kendall Park, N.J. anchored the backline in a 1-1 draw at Cornell on Sept. 6 and in two 1-0 shutouts against Mount St. Mary's and La Salle over the weekend at the Lafayette Puma Soccer Classic. For his contributions to the back-to-back clean sheets, Plummer was one of three Leopards to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Plummer has been on the pitch for every minute of the Leopards' 3-1-1 start to the 2011 season. Through five matches, Lafayette has posted a 0.56 goals-against average. The Leopards have yielded just three goals - two of which came on penalty kicks - in nearly 485 minutes of work.
