Tilley Previews the North Carolina Weekend

EASTON, Pa. - The Patriot League named Lafayette men's soccer player B.J. Glenn its Rookie of the Week. Glenn saw significant playing time in Lafayette's (1-1) first two games of the fall and netted the game-winning goal in the team's season-opening victory against St. Francis. Teammate Mike Tilley earned a spot on the conference's honor roll after scoring two goals in two games.

Glenn made his collegiate debut against the Terriers at the seventh-annual Puma Soccer Classic. He came off the bench to score what would eventually stand as the game-winning goal in the 76th minute of play, scoring on the only shot he took in the match.

Named one of College Soccer News' `Top 100 Freshmen to Watch in 2007,' Glenn again saw significant playing time in Lafayette's 2-1 overtime loss to St. Peter's on the final day of the tournament. His energy off the bench helped keep the Leopards in the game and force the game into extra time, where Lafayette eventually fell to the Peacocks.

Tilley also received recognition from the Patriot League this week, earning honorable mention. Tilley, a defender, netted two goals in two games for a total of four points, tied for the best among Patriot League players one week into the season.

Tilley's two scores came on three shots and he leads the team in both goals scored and points. For his efforts at the Puma Soccer Classic, the Massachusetts native was named to the All-Tournament team.

Lafayette is back in action this weekend when the team travels to North Carolina to face Davidson on Friday, Sept. 7 and UNC-Greensboro on Sunday, Sept. 9.
