EASTON, Pa. - Fall student-athletes put their best foot forward this morning, helping the Lafayette Class of 2012 to move-in on Thursday morning. Team members of seven of Lafayette's fall varsity sports participated in the event as well as several of the college's fraternities and sororities.

This is the ninth consecutive year that student-athletes volunteered to help incoming freshmen bring their belongings into their new dorm rooms. The program began in August of 1999 with the Lafayette football team and the College's Office of Student Residence and has been an annual tradition since.

Team members of the football, field hockey, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, volleyball and cheerleading teams all donated their mornings. They were found throughout campus unloading cars and carrying bags and boxes up flights of stairs helping ease the stress for parents dropping freshmen off.

The Class of 2012 has a weekend full of orientation activities before classes begin for all students on Aug. 25.
