Lafayette Men's Soccer Opens Preseason Camp

EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette men's soccer team opened preseason camp last week. The squad will have just over two weeks to prepare for its Aug. 31 season opener when the Leopards host the seventh-annual Puma Soccer Classic at Metzgar Fields.
Lafayette will conduct two-a-day practice sessions for the majority of preseason camp and travel to Ocean City, N.J. from Aug. 21-22 to compete in a scrimmage against Drexel.
Another highlight of preseason was a team trip to the Meadowlands on Aug. 18 to see the Red Bulls take on the LA Galaxy in front of one of the largest crowds in Redbulls' history.
Seventh-year head coach Dennis Bohn and his staff return 18 letterwinners this season, including eight starters. All five of the team's top scorers from 2006 return, as well, and the squad will also welcome seven freshmen this fall. Lafayette finished with an 11-4-2 overall record last year, marking the fourth straight season the team has posted a double-digit win total.
The Leopards open the 2007 season at the Puma Classic which will be held Friday, Aug. 31 and Sunday, Sept. 2 at the Mike Bourger '44 Field at Oaks Stadium.
